Hula Mama

An excerpt from 2 yr. old Taylor's journal: While dining on the back patio on Mother's Day, you randomly asked Mommy to do hula dancing. It was completely out of nowhere. You were so insistent upon your request that it was funny. Mommy finally got up to humor you as she waved her arms and rocked her hips around and said, "There, Taylor I did a hula dance for you." You were unsatisfied at this point and clarified, "No Mommy do a hula circle." Oh, Mommy was too stationary for you. She then (in front of everyone dining), danced the best hula she could muster while turning around slowly in a circle. After Mommy finished her fabulous performance, you seemed indifferent and requested that someone else do the hula. Apparently Mommy's hula skills don't pay the bills. Nobody else was willing to be in the spotlight, so it was suggested that you do a hula dance for everyone else. You gladly agreed, hopped down from the dinner table and darted toward the.......... hula hoop. Ahhh, a hula circle. Right, right.

Eagle Sighting!

Taylor has developed a love for eagles in her short 22 months of life. As a result, she has taken special interest in the painting by Rene Magritte, Le Domaine d'Arnheim, an imaginative work of art depicting a mountainous scene in the shape of a bald eagle. On Friday morning, just after some heavy rains, Taylor and I gazed out of the back window as we usually do during breakfast. Covering our normal view of the mountains was a massive cluster of cumulous clouds backlit by the rising sun. Taylor Immediately exclaimed, "Look Mommy! There's an eagle in the mountains!" As I ran to grab the camera, the formation of clouds had already begun to transform, but I was still able to capture of a glimpse of what we saw. It seemed to be a scene right out of a painting.

MOON!

A few nights ago, Taylor was admiring the huge full moon. Today she looked up and saw only a half moon. Then said she, "Mommy look at the moon! It's broken!"

The 99¢ Only Store is legit

To all my friends, who in the near future or distant future, find yourself anxiously wondering if you have a bun in the oven, I have some advice for you! Please don't go spending 15-20 buckaroos on the latest and greatest pregnancy test in a fancy package at your local drug store. Any dollar store near you will have some generic version of it, usually in less packaging. It is the same thing they use in the hospitals. They work. That's how I found out I was pregnant with Taylor and here is evidence of our 2nd child due to come January 8th, 2012! Now go spend the $20 on a cute maternity shirt. You've earned it ;)
