As easy as One, Two!
Many of us are familiar with the classic nursery rhyme One, Two, Buckle my Shoe. I recited it for Taylor recently and she thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. Later I listened in on Adam's version and I thought to myself "I better remember this because it is worth writing down!".
Adam's version:
One, two, buckle my shoe
Three, four, buy some more
Five, Six, burn some sticks
Seven, eight, stay up late
Nine, ten, skin a hen
Eleven, Twelve, Play with an elf
Thirteen, fourteen, eat some shortening
Fifteen, sixteen, fry some chicken
Seventeen, eighteen monkeys mating
Nineteen, twenty, Your'e my honey!
Classic version:
One two buckle my shoe
Three, four, shut the door
Five, six, pick up sticks
Seven, eight, lay them straight
Nine, ten, a big fat hen
Eleven, twelve, dig and delve
Thirteen, fourteen, maids a-courting
Fifteen, sixteen, maids in the kitchen
Seventeen, eighteen, maids in waiting
Nineteen, twenty, my plates empty
Taylor likes both versions but mommy LOVES daddy's version best!
